UNDERWOOD --Walter W. Remboldt, 80, Underwood, died Oct. 9, 2000, in the Underwood nursing home.
Services will be held at noon Thursday at Boelter Funeral Home, Bismarck, with the Rev. Darrel Aleson officiating. Burial will be in North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, rural Mandan. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Thursday at Boelter Funeral Home.
Walter was born Dec. 5, 1919 on the family farm north of Gackle, the son of Peter and Fredricka (Tesky) Remboldt. He was raised and educated in Gackle. He joined the military in 1945, where he served in the United States and Alaska and as an interpreter in Germany. He also served in the Korean War. After surviving 20 years in the military, he worked road construction in Tacoma, Wash.
He is survived by two daughters, Sandra Lee Remboldt, Mississippi, and Joyce Sylvia Remboldt, California; and one sister, Leona Suko, Gackle.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Emanual, Ervin and Harry; two sisters, Lydia and Hulda; and two sons, Ronald and Emanual.
