Helen Frederick, 80, elections clerk
ELYRIA -- Helen "Terry" Frederick (nee Reeves), 80, of Elyria, died Wednesday, June 6, 2001, at her home, following a one-year illness.
She was born June 21, 1920, in Elyria.
She graduated from Liberty High School, Bethlehem, Pa., in 1938, and returned to Elyria in 1939.
Mrs. Frederick was a clerk at the Lorain County Board of Elections from 1964 until her retirement in 1981.
She was a 50-year member of First Congregaational United Church of Christ, Elyria, and a member of the Elyria Women's Club, Elyria YWVA, Fourthurs, and the Elyria Republican Women's Club. She was a former member of the League of Women Voters and enjoyed playing bridge.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Robert H. Frederick, daughters Barbara L. Frederick of Cleveland and Susan L. McQuaid of Eolyria, son Robert H. Frederick Jr. of Cleveland; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and sisters Esther Orban of Bois, Idaho, and Priscilla Collins of Long Island, N. Y. She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Elizabeth (nee Neumann) Reeves, and brothers William and Louis Reeves.
Friends may call Friday 6 to 8:30 p.m. at Dicken Funeral Home, 323 Middle Ave., Elyria. Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 a.j. in the First Congregaational United Church of Christ, 330 Second St., Elyria, with the Rev. Dennis F. Fredriksen, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Ridgelawn Cemetery, Elyria.
