Mrs. Remboldt Services to be Held Thursday
Mrs. Katherina Remboldt, 80, pioneer and longtime resident of the Streeter community, died Sunday, Oct. 20, at the Bismarck Hospital where she had been a patient for about one month.
She was born Nov. 12, 1882 in So. Russia, the daughter of Andrew Zimmerman and Carolina Schlafman Zimmerman. She attended school there. In 1899 she came with her parents to the United States when they settled at Herreid, S.D., where the family farmed. A few years later they moved to a farm homestead 12 miles southwest of Streeter in Logan County.
On January 6, 1903, she and Mike Remboldt were married at Napoleon. Far a short time they farmed northeast of Gackle in Stutsman County, moving into Streeter in 1904. Following the death of her husband in 1931, she continued to live in Streeter until 1953 when she moved to Bismarck to live with her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Hoffer. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Streeter and of the Women's Missionary Society.
She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Earl Robertson, Sitka, Alaska; Mrs. Edwin Fischer, Streeter; Mrs. Lloyd Reeser, Prescott, Ariz.; Mrs. Oscar Hoffer, Bismarck; one son, Ernest II, Streeter; 15 grandchildren, on step grandchild, 15 great grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Christ Fischer, Ashley; Mrs. Theo. Derheim, Billing, Mont.; Mrs. Wm. Schlenker, Gackle; one brother, Carl Zimmerman, Napoleon. She was preceded in death by her husband, one daughter, one son in infancy, four brothers, and two sisters.
The funeral will be at 2:00 Thurs., Oct. 24 at the EUB Church in Streeter with Rev. A J. Borchardt, pastor of the First Baptist Church in Streeter, and Rev. Allan Strohschein, Bismarck, officiating. Burial will be in the Streeter Cemetery. The body will be at Haut Funeral Home in Gackle until Thursday at noon.
