Tuesday, August 15, 1920:
Hiram Whigham, aged 83 years, a former well known resident of this city, died yesterday afternoon at 5:30 o`clock at the home of his daughter, Mrs. George C. Gibson of Sharpsville, near Sharon, after a lingering illness from ailments incidental to old age. The body is to be brought here this afternoon and will be taken to the home of his daughter, Mrs. W. H. Sowash, of 808 Fifteenth avenue, where the funeral service will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o`clock. Interment will be in Versailles cemetery. Mr. Whigham was born in this city and resided practically all of his life in this section. He lived in Camden Heights for years and later moved to Dravosburg. He was a member of the Presbyterian church and is survived by his widow Mrs. Christine Fritz-hughes (sic: Fritzius) Whigham and by three sons, in addition to the two daughters named above, Harry T. Whigham of New York city; William Whigham of Pittsburg, and J. S. Whigham of Sharpsville.
