SHIMO
On October 17, 1987, ANDREW MICHAEL SHIMO, beloved husband of the late Mary Demchalk Shimo, father of Jolon M. Hilleary of Silver Spring, MD, Sr. Mary Shimo C. B. S. of Baltimore, brother of George Shimo [Shima] of New York, Matthew Shemo of Florida, Elmer Shimo and Francis Shimo of Scranton, PA and Mary Carey of Baltimore. Grandfather of Karen and Robert Hilleary.

The family will receive friends on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. at the Funeral Home of John A. Moran, Inc., 3000 east Baltimore street (corner of Potomac). Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Joseph's Church, Wilkesbarre, PA on Wednesday at 11 A.M. Interment in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Dallas, PA. Those desiring may make Memorial Contributions to the Bond Secours Extended Care Facility, 3000 north Ridge road, Ellicott City, MD 21043.

Andrew Shimo

Andrew M. Shimo, 919 N. Kenwood Ave., Baltimore, Md., died Saturday in Bon Secours Extended Care Facility, Ellicott City, Md. His wife, the former Mary Demchalk, died in 1957.

Born in Taylor, son of the late George and Elizabeth Kandra Shimo, he resided in Baltimore most of his life and was a member of St. Elizabeth Church, Baltimore, and its Holy Name Society. He formerly worked Bethlehem Steel Co., Baltimore, and retired 10 years ago, from the City of Housing, Baltimore.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Jolon M. Hilleary, Silver Springs, Md. and Sister Mary Shimo, CBS, Baltimore; two grandchildren; four brothers, George, Endwell, N.Y.; Matthew, Port Richey, Fla., and Elmer and Francis, both of Scranton; a sister, Mrs. Mary Carey, Baltimore.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Michael, John and Joseph, and two sisters, Mrs. Anna Skoviera and Mrs. Elizabeth Podracky.

The funeral will be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. from the Bednarski Funeral Home, 27 Park St., Wilkes-Barre, with Mass at 11 a.m. in St. Joseph's Slovak Church, Wilkes-Barre. Interment, Sacred Heart Cemetery, Dallas.

Viewing, today, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
