She was the only child of her parents and spent her early years living between New York City and Washington D.C. before the family moved to Venezuela in 1924. In 1925, they moved to Cuba, where her father assisted in the building of the Central Highway. In 1932, they settled in Wyncote, Pennsylvania, where she met her first husband, Harvey Garland Druin. They married 21 August 1941 in Wyncote, Pennsylvania. After the death of Gar in 1978, she married second to Carl Richard Moore on 16 June 1983 in Lodi, California. Her obituary appeared in the Lodi News-Sentinel issue of 20 May 2002.
