George Collins, son of the late Alfred Collins and Classie Watts Collins, was born on May 10, 1908 in Jefferson Davis County. He was one of fourteen children. Four brothers and three sisters preceeded him in death.
At an early age, he confessed a hope in Christ and joined church in Prentiss, Mississippi. Later he united with Mount Lula Baptist Church where he remained until his death.
He leaves to cherish his loving memories his wife, Mary Jean; one son, George Jr. (Mary) of Biloxi, MS; three daughters, Billie R. Smith of Pasadena, CA; Dorothy (Harry) Simmons of Lake Charles, LA; and Denise Michelle Caldwell of Rolling Fork, MS; one brother, Forest Collins of Prentiss, MS; three sisters, Corrine King of Chicago, IL; Mary Johnson of Bogaloosa, LA; and Myrtle Hall of Prentiss, MS; a devoted mother-in-law, Clara Caldwell; seven grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; one great grandchild; three foster grandchildren; four sisters-in-law; eight brothers-in-law and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
