Charles Cecil Conley, 83, of Ashland, died Tuesday, April 25 2006. Born May 23, 1922, in Van Lear, he was a son of the late Green and Molly Burke Conley. He was retired from the maintenance department at Armco Steel, Inc., a member and elder of Westwood Christian Church, and a WW II U.S. Army veteran, who was awarded a Purple Heart. He was also preceded in death by five brothers, Henry Conley, Guy Conley, Stewart Conley, Scott Conley, and Bearl Conley; and a sister, Mary Jasper. Survivors include his wife, Loretta Williams Conley; three sons, Paul David Conley and Tim Conley, both of Ashland; and Scott Conley of Russell; two sisters, Sophia Conley and Sarah Louise Stratton, both of Van Lear; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services were Friday, April 28, at Westwood Christian Church with Rev. Jerry Ginnan officiating. Burial was in Ashland Cemetery under direction of Caniff Funeral Home, Westwood-Ashland.
