Ray Wilson Burk, 80, of Shelbyville, passed away, December 24, 2008 at Jewish Hospital of Shelbyville, KY. He was a retired livestock broker and farmer, a veteran of the Navy, a member of the Kentucky Cattleman's Association, and a member of the First Baptist Church of Shelbyville. He was also the greatest "PaPa" a grandchild could ever ask for. His love for livestock and horseracing won him many friends and admirers.


He was preceded in death by his first wife, Evelyn; a son, Gary; a mother, Sarah Burk; a father, Walter Burk, Sr.; a brother, Walter Burk, Jr. and a sister, Sarah Joyce Burk. He is survived by his wife, Doris; a daughter, Vicki King; a son-in-law, "Junior" King; three step sons, Barry, Danny, and Tommy Yount; three grandchildren, Brian King, Ashley King, and Tori Yount; and a brother, Duvall Burk.


Funeral services will be Monday, December 29th at 2:00 p.m. at the Shannon Funeral Home in Shelbyville. Visitation will be Sunday from 2-9 p.m. Burial will be at Grove Hill Cemetery.


Expressions of sympathy may be made to the building fund at First Baptist Church.
