BLOCKTON
BLOCKTON — Elizabeth Adkins Burton, who died recently at the age of 76 years, was born Oct. 3, 1879 in Clark County near Hopeville, Iowa. She was one of five children born to Green Clay Adkins and Cathrine Shields Adkins. The family moved to Blockton when Elizabeth was twelve years old and she graduated from the local schools. She married Edward Granville Burton August 17, 1898. They made their home in Omaha, Nebr., Maryville and Kansas City, Mo.
She is survived by her only daughter, Helen Burton Roberts, with whom she has been living in Great Falls, Mont., for the last three years; a grandson Lt. Donald A. Roberts; and a great grandson Donald, both of Minneapolis Minn. Her one remaining sister, Mrs. Ralph Jenks, resides in Alhambra, Calif.
Mrs. Burton was a member of the Christian church, Eastern Star and Royal Neighbors. The interment will be in the local cemetery beside her husband who died April 23, 1946.
