Married Apr 14, 1823 in Grainger Co, Tennessee. It appears that the NORRISs of Grainger County are all one big family.

Submitted 11m 2010 by treerpgmo: Federal Census returns in 1830 for Grainger Co, Tennessee seem to indicate that Mary is the daughter of George Sr. NORRIS Sen. who along with his wife were both ages 60-70 at that time. The sequence in the returns is as follows for the NORRIS clan:

Pg. 5 of 118 (beginning with line 11):
11. William NORRIS He age 50-60 wife age 40-50
12. Garland NORRIS He & wife both age 30-40 but 1M is age 70-80
13. Isaac SEMORE He & wife age 20-30

24. Jarret NORRIS He age 50-60 wife age 40-50
25. Milly NORRIS She is age 40-50 and lives alone (and umarried)

Submitted 11m 2010 by treerpgmo: Via the NORRIS Genforum the following, combined with the above census returns suggests that Isaac SEYMOUR's wife Mary Elizabeth "Betsey" NORRIS was the daughter of George & Catherine (JARRETT) NORRIS. Note that the sons of George & Catherine married too late to have been the father of Mary Elizabeth "Betsey" who was born in 1802 according to her gravestone at Hughes Cemetery, Lindley Twsp, Mercer Co, Missouri:
