SPANISH AMERICAN WAR VETERAN
Guy Bellinger was born January 2, 1876 in Savona, New York. He listed his father as Henry Milton Bellinger and his mother as Francis Ann Kent, both born in New York. He stood five foot eight inches tall and had a dark complexion. His occupation was real estate broker.
Enlisted May 7, 1898 in Helena, Montana. Assigned to 1st Montana Infantry, U.S.V. Discharged July 7th, 1899 at Manila, Philippine Islands. He re-enlisted there July 15, 1899, served in Company "L" of the 37th Infantry U.S. Volunteers and was discharged at Cavite, Philippines on February 2, 1901. He received a pension on Certificate No. 2 443 955.
He married Mary Elizabeth on March 8, 1934. His children from a prior marriage were Pearl Henrietta Wickham of Boise, Idaho; Martin Francis Bellinger of Walnut Grove, California; Dorothy Katharine Ramon of Seattle, Washington; Guy Bellinger, Jr. of El Monti, California; Virginia Lea Zolinicki of San Francisco, California; and Bill J. Bellinger of New Berg, Oregon.
He entered the Washington Veterans' Home April 16, 1956 after residing in Port Angeles. He left the Home December 8, 1959 and returned April 25, 1960. He was discharged October 11, 1960 to enter the Orting Soldier's Home. Mr. Bellinger died there on August 4, 1962 but burial was at the Veterans' Home Cemetery where he had a reserved plot next to his second wife.
