Funeral services for George M. Cline, a resident of the St. Joseph's Nursing Home and formerly of Rensselaer Falls, will be held privately at Foxwood Memorial Park. Mr. Cline passed away on Thursday, April 16, at the nursing home. Arrangements are with the Fox-McLellan Funeral Home .

Surviving are two nephews, Jeffrey Cline and his wife Michelle of Ogdensburg, and Robert Cline and his companion Marion Carter of Ogdensburg; two nieces, Bonnie Monroe of Ogdensburg, and Vickie LeGault and her husband Henry of Black River; along with several great nieces & nephews.

A brother, John "Herb" Cline predeceased him.

Mr. Cline was born on July 26, 1923, in Ogdensburg, a son of the late Maurice and Hazel (Sullivan) Cline. He graduated from Rensselaer Falls High School in 1941 and continued his education at the Ogdensburg Business School until 1942.

He entered the U.S. Army in 1943 during WWII and received the American Campaign Medal along with the Good Conduct and WWII Victory Medals during his enlistment. In 1946 he was honorably discharged and continued his education at Champlain College and later transferred to Syracuse University where he earned his bachelors degree in business administration. In 1950 he began teaching at Hermon-Dekalb Central School until 1988 when he retired. He also sent the summer month employed at the Ogdensburg Trust Company Bank during the summer months for many years.

He was a member of the Hermon-Dekalb Alumni Association and a life member of both AmVets and the American Legion.

He enjoyed traveling, gardening and spending time with his nephew, Jeff.
