Mr. Hardee was born in Chiefland and was a lifelong resident. He was a retired insurance salesman. He served in the U.S. Army and was a member and past commander of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5625 in Chiefland. He also was a member of First Baptist Church in Chiefland.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Hardee of Chiefland; one daughter and son-in-law, Gloria and Turner Tillis of Palatka; one son and daughter-in-law, Carlton and Joy Hardee of Jacksonville; four grandchildren, Kelly Tillis, Ruth Marie Tillis, Andy Hardee and Sean Hardee; 15 great-grandchildren; one brother, Wayne Hardee of Chiefland; and one sister, Betty Hair in Tallahassee.
