Private, Company L. 18th Pennsylvania Cavalry. At war's end, the 18th Pennsylvania Cavalry and the 22nd Pennsylvania Cavalry were consolidated to form the 3rd Pennsylvania Provisional Cavalry. David was mustered out with Company F, 3rd PA Provisional Cavalry on October 31, 1865. Thereafter, he lived in Ten Mile, Pennsylvania.
David was the son of Levi HUFFORD and Hannah SMITH, and the brother of George Washington, James, William S., Dennis, Levi Madison, Alvin B., John Austin, and Milton.
He married Susannah (last name unknown) and was the father of Hannah, Theodosia, William A., and Rebecca A.
He filed for a pension on January 12, 1881, application number 413,910, certificate 833,031.
