The will of John Brown, dated September 16, 1799 and probated August 4, 1801, lists his wife Charity, his sons William, Duncan and John, his daughters Christian Brown, Mary Brown, Margaret Hulse, Jane Tuthill, Ephey White, Meriem Robins, and his grandsons John (son of William Brown) and Tuthill and Nathan (sons of Duncan Brown). John Durham, Robert McCord, and Lette McCord are listed as witnesses and Andrew McCord and John Cox are named as executors of his estate.
