DEATH OF MRS. H. MILLER OCCURS FRIDAY MORNING. FUNERAL SERVICES HELD ON SUNDAY AFTERNOON, AND BURIAL WAS HERE

Mrs. Hattie Miller, for many years a resident of Burlington Junction, and who lacked only a few days of reaching her 70th birthday, died at the home here early last Friday morning. Mrs. Miller had been in rapidly declining health for several months. Harriett Jane Alexander, daughter of Mary Eliza Rivers and Richard Alexander was born January 28, 1867, at Zanesville, Ohio, and departed this life at her home in Burlington Junction, January 15, 1937.

When two years of age she moved with her parents to a farm near Rockport, Illinois, later moving to Iowa. In 1883 she was united in marriage to Edson L. Blakesley. To this union were born two children, one of whom died in infancy. Mr. Blakesley died in 1888.

In 1891 she was married to Agustus C. Miller. There were six children born to this union, two of whom, with the husband and father, have preceded her in death. Surviving are her children, Mrs. Iva Greenlee, Vandalia, Mo; Mrs. Eva Frieze, Council Bluffs, Iowa; Ray Miller, Los Angeles, Calif.; Mrs. Zelma Boyer, Burlington Junction; and Bernice Miller at home: one brother, Edgar Alexander of Kansas City; seven grandchildren and six great grand children.

At an early age Mrs. Miller became a member of the Christian church and remained loyal to her faith throughout her life. Funeral services were held at 2:00 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the Christian church, conducted by Rev. C. C. James, pastor of the local M.E. church. Burial was in Ohio cemetery.

Note:
Her family is shown in the 1880 Census at Harlan, Page, Iowa.
A son, Carmon Harold Miller died of scarlet fever 07 Jan 1910. Her brother Edgar is buried in Liberty, Clay Co., MO.
