Funeral services for Loretta M. Crobar, 93, of County Route 10 Heuvelton, will be held on Wednesday April 15, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Fox-McLellan Funeral Home with Rev. Terry R. LaValley as celebrant. Entombment will follow the service at Foxwood Memorial Park.

Calling hours will also be held on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Mrs. Crobar passed away early Monday (April 13, 2009) at her home surrounded by her family.

Surviving is a son, Kenneth Crobar of Heuvelton; a daughter, Judy Sporbert of Heuvelton; eight grandchildren, Stephen Crobar, Jeffrey Crobar, Heather Montroy, Melissa Hayes, Lori Ashley, Charles Mitchell Tim Mitchel and Cathy Otis; and fifteen great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mrs. Crobar was predeceased by her husband James in 2002; five sisters, Irene Lally, Marie Erwin, Kay McKever, Coletta Fisher and Theresa Black; and five brothers, Emmett, Earl, Kenneth, Gerald and Jack Shanahan.

Loretta was born on August 26, 1915 in Spencerville, Ontario a daughter of the late Patrick and Mary (O'Brien) Shanahan. She attended Spencerville schools for her education and married James A. Crobar on December 5, 1939. She was employed at the St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center in Ogdensburg as an attendant for 24 years. She retired in 1977.

She was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral and St. Raphael's Catholic Churches and was an avid bowler.

Memorial contributions can be made in her name to the St. Jude's Children Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
