The "New York Mirror," of December the 4th, has the following of interest here, as Mr. C. B. Poor is brother to Mr. H. F. Poor, manager of the Postal Savings Bank, and at present attached to the Hawaiian Commission to Samoa, on six months leave of absence from the Post Office.

The "Mirror" has received the wedding-cards of Mr. and Mrs. Charles B. Poor. The couple were married at the Briggs House, Chicago, just a week ago. Maud Harris, the bride, was a member of the Under the Gaslight company, playing Peachblossom. She is now playing Shakespeare Jarvis in Litt's Lights o'London company. Husband and wife are members of the same company.

Curtain for Charles Poor

Charles B. Poor, the Hawaiian actor who has achieved fame in the United States and England as a character artist, died in San Francisco, July 2 (s/b July 21), and was buried July 23 from the chapel of Odd Fellows' cemetery under the auspices of San Francisco Lodge No. 3, B. P. O. E.

Mr. Poor, was about fifty years of age, and had lived away from the islands the greater part of his life. He was the son of Henry Francis Poor, now dead. His mother, Mrs. Caroline Bush, is a resident of this city. In addition to being a member of New York Lodge No. 1, B. P. O. E., Mr. Poor was also a member of the Lambs' Clu of New York.

Charles B. Poor had made his home in the east for many years. During the past season he had been with Collier's company playing, "Caught in the Rain." The company came to the Coast some weeks ago and while playing in San Francisco Mr. Poor was taken ill and was sent to the German Hospital. His disease was seemingly a sort of locomotor ataxia, toward the end resulting in a paralysis of the throat. His welfare was looked after during his illness by a number of old Honolulu friends and some of these were present when he died.
