Joyce M. Briggs, 69, of S. Dansville, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday (April 8, 2009) at her home.
Joyce was born on March 1, 1940 in Dansville, a daughter of the late Derwin and Ethel Keller Briggs. She was a member and care taker at the S. Dansville Methodist Church and also a member of the S. Dansville Fire Co. She helped raise numerous children in the S. Dansville area for years.
She is survived by her sister, Ruth (Stephen) Born of S. Dansville; five brothers, Douglas (Sally) Briggs of S. Dansville, James (Christine) Briggs of S. Dansville, Steven (Elizabeth) Briggs of Florida, Thomas Briggs of Avon, and Roger Briggs of S. Dansville; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services took place at the S. Dansville Methodist Church with Rev. Philip Vitullo officiating. Burial was in Rogersville Cemetery, S. Dansville, NY.
