9 Jul 1915: Samuel J. DeHart, a well-known resident of West Main avenue, died suddenly last evening from heart failure, following a long illness. He had walked to the front door, and his wife, who had been there with him, had walked into the house, when she heard her husband fall, and in a few moments he was dead. It is 20 years ago that Mr. DeHart, who was engaged in the draying business for a long time prior to that, met with an accident to his kneecap that gave him trouble for a long time, and five years ago last month he met with another accident, from which he had been suffering ever since. Mr. DeHart was twice married, his first wife having been Emma, daughter of Mrs. Mary Leese. About 10 years ago he was married to Miss Emma Spangler, who survives. There is also one brother, Henry DeHart, of Mt. Aetna. Mr. DeHart was a member of Myerstown Lodge No. 358, I. O. O. F., and Camp No. 64, P.S. O. A. Funeral Monday, July 12, at 2. Services at the house by Rev. Oliver L. Mease, pastor of the U. B. Church, and interment in the Union cemetery. Funeral Director Isaac N. Behney has charge. [Reading (PA) Eagle]
