Mrs. Mary Ann Snyder was born in Green county, Tennessee, on the 7th day of September, 1839, and departed this life the 25th day of May, 1906. Mrs. Synder was the daughter of the Rev. John Weems and Rhoda Weems.
She grew up and lived in this county ever since she was four years of age. She was married to Geo. A. Snyder in September 1866, and there was born unto them two children, Thomas Lafayette and Daniel Allen.
Daniel preceded his mother a few days in death. When Mrs. Snyder and Geo. A. Snyder were married Mr. Snyder had a little son (Mark) two years old which Mrs. Snyder cared for as tenderly as if he had been her own.
Mrs. Snyder was converted at Spring Hill near Stella and joined the church in 1857 and ever lived a true and consistent Christian life, and like Mary of old she hath done her part well.
Funeral services were held at the Methodist church in Newtonia on Saturday at 1:45 P.M., Rev. L.L. Pinnell conducting the services. She was laid to rest in the I.O.O.F. cemetery. Mrs. Snyder was a woman whom everybody loved and respected and she will be sadly missed.
