Solomon was the son of Daniel HUFFORD and Nancy WELTY. He was the brother of Catherine, Elizabeth, Sarah, Lydia, Susan, Nancy, Daniel, John, Abraham, and Rebecca.
He married Elizabeth DENNISON in 1848 in Ohio. Their first child was Sarah, who was born in December 1848.
His other children born to wife Elizabeth were Nancy, Mary, John, Daniel, and Charles Wesley.
He and Elizabeth moved to Tampa County, Iowa in 1852.
He was a farmer, and he was affiliated with the Methodist-Episcopal Church.
His photo is from page 134 of the 1909 HUFFORD FAMILY HISTORY.
NOTE: There is a mystery attached to Solomon. It's possible that he was the father of William Franklin Hufford. If so, Solomon must have had a first marriage for which genealogists can find no record. A relationship must be considered for three reasons: (1) William Franklin Hufford's facial resemblance to Solomon Hufford is amazingly strong. (2) William Franklin Hufford's death certificate names his father as "Solomon." (3) William Franklin Hufford enlisted into Company G of the Ohio 114th Infantry Regiment in 1862; most of the men from Company G were from Perry Co., Ohio, primarily from Pike Township, Monday Creek Township, and Jackson Township, and Solomon was from Monday Creek Township, Perry Co., Ohio.
