Here lyes in hopes of a Blessed Resurrection ye Body of Mrs Martha Jones wife of Mr Orlando Jones She was the Daughter of MR Gideon Macon & Martha . . . Of new Kent . .

The lower part of the stone is illegible. It was brought from New Kent and put in the church to preserve it. Martha and Orlando Jones were Martha Washington's maternal grandparents.

Martha you died so young, just like my maternal grandmother. You were her 7th great grandmother on her fathers side and you were my 8th! I just found this out and am thrilled!Daffodils were my mom's passion, so I thought you'd like these.
