Trenton Evening Times 3 January 1919
John was probably the son of a John Morgan and was, according to family tradition, descended from Sir Henry Morgan, the famous pirate--though I've found documents that indicate Sir Henry never had any children. John worked as a jiggerman in a Trenton pottery. He married Lucy Gamble, possibly on 8 Aug 1871 in England, which would indicate his son James, b. abt 1869 in NJ could be an adopted son or a son of a previous marriage. He and Lucy had the following children: (?James), Anna, Emma, Mary, John, Jr., Samuel, Harry, George, Frank and Ruth.
Lucy Gamble Morgan (1851 - 1908)*
Emma Morgan Remsen (1875 - 1935)*
John William Morgan (1879 - 1920)*
George Morgan (1886 - 1950)*
Ruth Morgan Widder (1891 - 1974)*
Note: From #48434609: There are gravestone for George and Lottie J. Morgan, John W. Morgan Jr, and Mary Morgan. There are also two white stones that look like they could be the base for another gravestone, but there is not another gravestone in sight.
