"LaFayette T. Carr was born in St. Clair Co., Ala., Nov. 9th, 1852, professed a Christian when a boy and lived a Christian till his death, which was Aug. 26th, 1894, after three week's illness. He was married Nov. 12th, 1874, from which union is nine children, all of which are living. May the blessings of God rest upon mother and children.
He came to the territory in March 1888. I formed his acquaintance soon after. He has always been a worker in the church, and was Superintendent of the S.S. at Younger Bend at the time of his death. I have been his pastor for some time and I feel that the community and church have sustained a great loss. Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord. W. P. Piekin"
