Goldsboro News-Argus > Smithy Louise Alsop, 82, a resident of the Britthaven Nursing Home died Sunday March 22, 2009 in the Wayne Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of McIntyre Funeral Home Ministries with the Rev. Larry Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Old Mill Cemetery. She leaves to cherish precious memories one brother, Robert Herring of Fremont; four sisters, Carniece DeVaughn of Mount Olive, Ethel Herring of Dudley, Sandra Austin of Dallas, Texas, and Martha Herring of Goldsboro; a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Visitation will be today from 2 until 6 p.m., with the family present to receive friends from 5 until 6 p.m. at McIntyre Funeral Home Ministries. The Order of the Eastern Star rites will be conducted at 5:30 p.m. today at the funeral home. The family will assemble at the funeral home Monday at 1:50 p.m. in preparation for the funeral service.
