King Eric Cole was probably the father of King Sweartgar I (according to historian Birger Nerman) and was the first person ever buried in this cemetery. Counting back from King Eric XIV of Sweden (1560-1568) he has also been called Eric VIII of Sweden, but that is not considered genuine or appropriate. Approximate year of death. Hardly anything else factual is known about him. His very existence is disputed. Here, Goodyear is not a surname, but an epithet referring to one or more good harvests during his reign.
