WADE W WATSON DIED IN MARTINSBURG
Wade Wilson Watson, 72, retired railroad man and resident of Martinsburg the past 44 years, died at his home, 304 West Martin Street, Saturday night, following an illness of several months. He was a native of Clarke County, VA. born on Feb 24, 1877 and lived in Jefferson County, before coming to Martinsburg. He was a son of the late John T and Elizabeth Watson.
He was employed at the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad shops here until his retirement in March of 1948. He was a member of the B&O Veterans Association and of Trinity Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, the former Miss Ella Virginia Trussell, of Halltown, whom he married in 1902; two daughters - Mrs. James Moler of Charles Town and Mrs. George Christensen, of Willoughby, Ohio; four sons Richard Watson, Philadelphia, PA; Leighton Watson, Morgantown; Herbert Watson, Winchester, VS; and Gilmore Watson, Martinsburg; and one sister, Mrs. Newton Snyder, of Pikeside.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2 PM from the Kogel-Schatz and Coffman Funeral Chapel with burial in Edge Hill Cemetery, Charles Town. The Rev. J Raymond Wood, pastor of Trinity Methodist Church officiated. Pallbearers were Clarence Grey, Lee Snyder, Russell Reid, McSherry Chambers, Joseph Hubbard and Guy Hayslett.
