Kerrville - Funeral services for Mrs. Velma "Sweet" Collins, 69, of Medina, who died Friday in Kerrville, will be held 10 a.m. on Monday at Grimes Funeral Chapels of Bandera with Martin Smith officiating. Interment will be at Oak Rest Cemetery in Medina.

Mrs. Collins, a resident of Medina for 22 years and an prior resident of Corpus Christi, was born on July 29, 1906, in Bluff, Texas. She was a member of the Church of Christ.

Mrs. Collins was predeceased by her husband, Finis Payton Collins in 1974.

Survivors are daughters Joyce Eaton of Bandera, Barbara "Bobbie" James of Medina, Wanda Tirpak of Corpus Christi, Frances Martin of Austin and Geniva Dawe of Seadrift; son James Collins of San Antonio; sisters Lilly Edwards of Plains and Patsy Wyatt of Littlefield; 18 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren and four Great-great grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Medina Children's Home.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Grimes Funeral Chapels of Bandera.
