WENATCHEE - Don P. Mihelitch, 69, of Wenatchee and a former resident of East Wenatchee, died Sunday, Dec. 11, 1994, in Central Washington Hospital.

He was born Oct. 11, 1925, to John and Ella (Phillipps) Mihelitch, at Marysville. He spent his early years in Marysville and Omak until joining the U.S. Navy in 1943. He received the Asiatic Pacific and American Theater ribbons and the Victory Medal for his service and valor.

He married Alice Satterlee on Dec. 5, 1943, at Omak. They lived briefly in San Francisco, Calif., while Mr. Mihelitch was in the Navy. Following his honorable discharge in 1946, they moved to Enumclaw and later made their home in Buckley, where they raised cattle.

Mr. Mihelitch also worked as a heavy equipment operator for Snelson Construction Co. at Sedro Woolley, later becoming general superintendent of the company.

Mr. and Mrs. Mihelitch moved to Eastern Washington, settling in East Wenatchee in 1973. Mr. Mihelitch worked on the construction of the new Rock Island Dam power plant and then the construction of the Columbia River Bridge at Olds Station.

His wife died on Dec. 22, 1988.

He married Jessie (Browning) Marks on Feb. 2, 1990, at Wenatchee, where they made their home.

Mr. Mihelitch was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers No. 302, the Wenatchee Aerie No. 204 Fraternal Order of Eagles, and the American Legion Post No. 10 of Wenatchee.

He is survived by his wife, at home; three daughters, Renee Watkins of Sierra Vista, Ariz., Claudia Menzel of Sumner, and Mona Krause of Huachuca, Ariz.; a brother, Richard of Kennewick; a sister, Helen Edwards of Puyallup; two stepdaughters, Janice Wilder of Wenatchee, and Joyce Farley of Oroville; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. In addition to his first wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, two sisters and his parents.

Arrangements are by Telford's Chapel of the Valley, East Wenatchee.
