Obituary – John M. Adams
John Morgan Adams died last Tuesday at his home in Blockton, at the age of 84 years.
He was born June 5, 1870 in Shelby County, Indiana, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John W. [esley] Adams [Anna Jane Baity]. At the age of seven he came by covered wagon with his parents to Taylor County, where he spent the remainder of his life.

On September 22, 1888 he was married to Margaret Ann Raper. To them eight children were born. Three have preceded him in death: Vesta Kemery, Grace Sickles and Etta Cavin.

He became a member of the Mount Zion Baptist Church and in 1948 transferred his membership to the Blockton Christian church.

Survivors include his wife of 66 years; five children, Mrs. Effie Weaver, Warren and Elbert of Blockton, Mrs. Myrtle Field of Savannah, John E. [verett] of Las Vegas.

There are also 14 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, 16 great great grandchildren.
