The following is a revised obituary found for Tobias Haught.

Tobias Haught died at Matamoras on February 1, 1884. He was born on May 30, 1794 in Monongalia County, West Virginia.

Tobias married Catherine Hensel in September of 1811 and they lived together for over 68 years. (Catherine was a Daughter of John and Ann Hensel).

Tobias's and Catherine's family numbered ten boys and three girls. The eldest, John Haught was 53 years old when he died. One Daughter died in infancy. The rest are still living. Levi Haught has not been heard from for 19 years. There were 81 grandchildren and 60 of them are still living. Great grand-children 160 and 110 of them are living. Great-great grandchildren 23. Total heirs 240 and 230 living descendants at the death of ancestor.

As of December 15, 2012, the following children of Tobias Haught and Catherine Hensel can be accounted for:

1. NOAH HAUGHT, who was born about 1817 in Virginia. He died in August of 1898 in Monroe County, Ohio. He married Sarah Eddy.

2. JESSE HAUGHT was born around 1820 in Virginia (and what is now West Virginia). Jesse married Sarah Haught who was born around 1820 in Virginia.

3. ELIJAH HAUGHT was born on July 15, 1822 in Virginia. He died on January 11, 1902 in Wingett Run Township, Washington Couty, Ohio. Elijah married ANNA WEAVER on April 16, 1843 in Washington County, Ohio, daughter of John Weaver and Margaret (maiden name unknown). Anna Weaver was born on February 28, 1824 in Virginia. She died on February 19, 1887 in Ludlow Township, Washington County, Ohio.

Elijah Haught's second Wife was JANE KINNEY, whom he married on December 27, 1893 in Monroe County, Ohio. She was the daughter of George Kinney and Ann Cronin. Jane was born on August 26, 1842 in Ohio and she died on January 11, 1919 in Wayne Township, Monroe County, Ohio.

4. SAMUEL HAUGHT was born on September 8, 1827 in Monongalia, West Virginia. He died on March 23, 1903 in Monroe County, Ohio.

5. JOSEPH HAUGHT was born in 1832 in Virginia.

6. BENJAMIN J. HAUGHT was born in 1834 in Ohio.

7. CATHARINE HAUGHT was born in 1837 in Ohio.

8. HENSEL HAUGHT was born in 1839 in Ohio. Hensel married CORDELIA HESSON on August 15, 1874 in Washington County, Ohio, daughter of Henry Hesson and Christina "Nettie" White. She was born in 1849 in Ohio.

9. JOHN HAUGHT, who is mentioned in Tobias' obituary.


11. LEVI HAUGHT, who is mentioned in Tobias' obituary.
