Naval Aviation Cadet R. W. Augrain, USNR, was one of ten Navy servicemen killed when a PB4Y-2 patrol bomber crashed shortly after takeoff from NAS Corpus Christi, Tex. NAVCAD Augrain was undergoing training as a student naval aviator (SNA).
NAVCAD Augrain was the son of Rene Joseph and Thelma Augrain, of New Orleans, La.
