Last Rites Are Held Monday For Retired Edelstein Farmer

Funeral services for Clarence Caldwell, 62, retired farmer living near Edelstein, were held Monday at 1 p.m. in the Bouton Memorial home in Princeville with Rev. Edward K. Hieninger of the Edelstein Congregational church officiating. Interment was in the Swan Lake Memory gardens near Peoria. Pallbearers were Walter Smith, Kenneth Smith, Riley Kellar, Walter Hollis, Arthur Hollis and Philip Elsaser.

Mr. Caldwell was born in Millbrook township, Peoria county. He died suddenly Friday night, July 13, in his home from a heart attack.

January 2, 1913 he was united in marriage to Ida Walkington. To this union six children were born, all of whom survive. They are Mrs. Hazel Foster of Peoria, Gerald Caldwell of Edelstein, Mrs. Vivian Roark of Lincoln, Donald Caldwell of Edelstein, Elwyn Caldwell of Mantino and Mrs. Alma McElhiney of Carlinville. He is also survived by three sisters, Miss Della Caldwell, Miss Bertha Caldwell and Miss Carrie Caldwell; and seven grandchildren.
