Brent Lowrie Anderson, 24, of Hendersonville died Saturday, March 14, 2009, at Four Seasons Hospice Elizabeth House.

He was a native and lifelong resident of Henderson County and attended Atkinson Elementary School, Bruce Drysdale Elementary School and Rugby Middle School before becoming homebound due to his illness. He was a member of First Baptist Church and the Parents Achievement Support Group of Mud Creek Baptist Church.

He was a poster child for the Cornelia de Lange Syndrome support group in Western North Carolina and received a Community Service Award at SSEACO for his crafts. He had an abundance of unconditional love and blessed many people that he met over the years with his smiles, kisses, squeeze hugs and paper flowers.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Walter and Ruby Hinson; and his paternal grandfather, Wendell Lowrie Anderson.

Surviving are his parents, Larry and Susan Anderson of Hendersonville; his sister, Paula Demonet and husband, Greg, of Bryson City; three nieces, Autumn Shaw Demonet, Elianna Demonet and Emma Grace Demonet; his paternal grandmother, Shirley Mae Anderson of La Plata, Md.; numerous aunts; uncles; cousins; friends; and special Sunday school teachers; his best friend, Laura Mycock of New Jersey; and his longtime caregivers, Sandy Mustardo and Barb Curtis, who welcomed him into their families.

A praise and celebration service will be held at 3 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church. The Rev. Ryan Pack will officiate. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service at the church and at other times will be at the home.
