Mrs. Bessie Bogardus, a former Beloit resident, died Tuesday in San Diego following a recent heart attack. Burial will be in Forest Lawn cemetery, Glendale.
The daughter of Fred and Hattie Sherwood, she was born March 2, 1891, in Janesville. she lived in Beloit most of her life and worked at Freeman Shoe Corp. for over 25 years. She moved to California shortly after marrying Harry Bogardus on March 5, 1949.
Survivors include her husband, two sons, Gordon Vallee, San Diego, and Robert Vallee, Evansville; an aunt, Mrs. Alice Sherwood, and a cousin, Frank Sherwood, both of Beloit, and four grandchildren. Mrs. Bogardus was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers.
