Obituary, Karnatz--
Mary Louise Karnatz was born in Thornton, Ill., November 17, 1866 and departed this life April 17, 1958 at the home of her daughter, Mrs/ Ray Mileger, near Edgar, Neb., at the age of 91 years and 5 months.

She was the daughter of Frederick and Henrietta Karnatz. She was one of a family of five children.

The family moved to Jewell county (sic), Kan., where her parents homesteaded on a farm.

On October 3, 1885, Mary and Fred Karnatz were united in marriage at Guide Rock., Neb.

To this union 6 children were born, Dena, Albert, William, Louis, Herman and Ethel. Mr. and Mrs. Karnatz engaged in farming in the Ong, Edgar and Deweese vicinities.

They moved to Edgar in 1933 where he passed away April 12, 1957. She was a member of the Edgar Methodist church (sic).

She leaves to mourn her passing four children, Dena Weis of Summerfield, Kan., Wm. Karnatz of Davenport, Herman Karnatz of Lena, Ill., and Ethel Mileger of Edgar; one sister, Mrs. Emma Rath of Saint Francis, Kan., 15 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and two sons, Albert and Louis. In addition to the family members mentioned, she will be missed by many other relatives and a host of friends.

Services were held in the Edgar Methodist Church at 2:30 Sunday, April 20, with Rev. John L. Lauer officiating. Mrs. Harold Beck and Mrs. Morely Braye sang "In the Garden" and "Ivory Palaces" accompanied by Mrs. Robert Mikkelsen at the organ. Flowers were cared for by Mrs. Vernon Jacobs, Mrs. D. A. Jackson and Mrs. Harold Crouch. The pall bearers all grandsons of the deceased were Robert Karnatz, Clair Karnatz, Ray Karnatz, Lovelle Karnatz, Reuel Karnatz and Alvin Lowery. Funeral arrangements were handled by J. M. McGhie funeral directors with burial in the Edgar cemetery (sic).
