Alberry Alexander was born in Pine Log, Bartow county, Georgia. His ancestry was Scots Irish. He was born on a farm but he didn't like farming. After he married, he moved to Birmingham, Alabama to work in the steel mills. He worked as a blacksmith at TCI for over 40 years and he served in WW I. He and his wife Vera raised 4 children. I am his first grandchild and I called him Paw Paw. I still miss him very much.

Paw Paw, you didn't know that you were a descendant of Christopher Newport, the Captain of the ships that brought the settlers to Jamestown. I wish you were here so I could tell you about all the things I have found out about your ancestors.
