Joanna Drucilla Waldrip Cantrell was born 2 May 1866 in Gordon County, Georgia to Thomas Edward Waldrip and Sarah Ellen Harris Waldrip.

Drucilla married William Harrison Cantrell 10 September 1885 in Marshall County, Alabama. Drucilla was mother to eleven children; Sarah Eugenia Cantrell Sheppard, Mattie Cantrell, Prattie Kitten Cantrell perkins, Roxy Myrtle Cantrell Burdette, Melven Cantrell, Wiley Harrison Cantrell, Maude Elizabeth Cantrell Burdette Straiton, Hattie Modell Cantrell Bradley, Buena Vista Cantrell Rigsby, Hassie Lee Cantrell Parker, and Hulett Welmer Cantrell.

Drucilla and William lived in Marshall and Cullman Counties. William died in 1934. Wiley built Drucilla a tiny house near Baileyton, Cullman County, Alabama. She lived there until she needed care and then lived with her children. She was living with her daughter, Maude, in Birmingham, Jefferson County, Alabama when she died 9 December 1951. She is buried in Rocky Mount Cemetery, Marshall County, Alabama.
