Lydia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM, on Wednesday, October 29, 2008, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Lydia, for Herman L. Jolet, Jr., 81, who passed away on Monday, October 27, 2008 in New Iberia.

Interment will follow in the St. John the Evangelist Cemetery in Jeanerette.

Rev. Donovan Labbe will be the Celebrant.

Born on November 9, 1926 in New Iberia,

Mr. Jolet worked for the Morton Salt Company at Weeks Island for 36 years. He was a veteran of the US Army.

Survivors include his sons, Randy L. Jolet, Sr. and wife Olivia of Lydia, Glenn S. Jolet of Lydia; daughters, Myra Savoy of New Iberia, Nedra Boggs and husband Jimmy of St. Martinville, Molly Ransonet of Lydia; brothers, Floyd Jolet and wife Rose of Lydia, Patrick Jolet and wife Gwen of Cade; sisters, Flossie Bourgeouis of Charenton, Sandra King and husband Billy of Thibodaux; 12 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Enola Daily; parents, Herman L. Jolet, Sr. and May Bourque Jolet.

A gathering of family and friends will be Tuesday from 2:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd, in New Iberia. A rosary will be prayed at 6:30 PM Tuesday. Visitation will continue Wednesday from 8:00 AM until 9:15 AM.

Pallbearers include Dusty Jolet, Randy Jolet, Jr., Brannon Boggs, Bradie Boggs, Brodie Boggs, Joshua Ransonet, Zeb Ransonet, and Steven Jolet.
