On August 20, 1932 she married the love of her life, Clyde Paul. September 9, 1934 a baby boy was born and died after a long and hard labor leaving Mary at the brink of death for several months. Due to this her health was never very good and she experienced several miscarriages for years afterwards.
During their young married life Clyde was a farmer and part-time barber. Mary worked alongside her husband in the fields just like a man, plus made sure food was on the table and clothes were clean.
When World War II started her Clyde was drafted into the Army. She was a true Army wife and supported her soldier with all her might. At the end of the war her prayers were answered, her Clyde came back home to her and he became a full-time barber in Ocilla, GA.
A year later God sent them a miracle in the form of a baby girl. Her life long wish of being a "mother" was answered. Her little family was complete.
She was a stay-at-home wife and mom but she worked harder than any woman around. Famous for her cooking especially her fried chicken, fried apple tarts, and egg pie, she also did beautiful crochet, needle work, sewing, and kept a spotless house with the prettest yard around. She was truly the "woman behind her man" by supporting Clyde in everything he did. She was a devout christian and hard worker in her church.
She loved her son-in-law and lived long enough to see her two grandsons grow into manhood. She now has a great granddaughter (first name "Mary") and a great grandson (middle name "Clyde").
She is truly missed by all who knew her.
