Lee Bolen, as he was called, came to Arkansas before 1880 from State Line, Missouri. The name of the town was later changed to West Line. His parents were Elias Bolen and Louisa Jane Wright. He died after the 1900 AR census and before JAN 1903 when his wife Alice Blasengame paid the taxes on their land. He is believed to be buried on the homestead along with several children who died young or miscarried.
