Professional Football Player. He was a quarterback for the Detroit Lions, Atlanta Falcons, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Komlo lead the University of Deleware Blue Hens to second-place in NCAA Division II in 1978; during his college career, he passed for 5,256 yards, and set 11 school records. Taken by the Lions in the ninth round of the NFL draft, he started all 16 games for them in 1979. In five NFL seasons, he played 25 games, and passed for 12 touchdowns. After retirement, Komlo worked in the insurance business; in July 2005, he fled the country while awaiting sentencing for two drunk-driving convictions in Chester County, Pennsylvania (at the time, he was also under investigation for arson in Pensylvania and Florida). Though featured on "America's Most Wanted" in August, 2005, he was never apprehended. He died in a car-crash; though there was suspicion he might have faked his death, the State Department confirmed his identity through fingerprints.
