Had Been in Hospital Since in April. Survived by Her Husband, Six Children
Mrs. John Reid Jr., well known and highly respected Boone woman who had been a patient at the Boone county hospital since in April, succumbed Tuesday morning at 5:15 o'clock. Mrs. Reid, who resided at 1123 West Fourth street, succumbed of a complication of disorders.
She was 63 years of age and the daughter of a Boone county pioneer. She spent her entire lifetime in this county.
Six Children Survive
She is survived by her husband, who is deputy clerk of the Boone county district court and a former Boone couth sheriff; and the following children: Jack Reid of Boone, Mrs. Harold Johnson of Janesville, Wisconsin; Mrs. Sidney Crooks of Detroit, Michigan; Clyde Reid of Boone, James Reid of Carroll and Maurice Reid of Sioux City.
Her husband and children were with her when the end came. She was proceeded in death by a daughter, Mrs. Ray Grabau, the former Miss Myra Reid.
She is survived by two brothers and five sisters all of Des Moines. They are Andrew and Clyde Fairgrave, Miss Rose Fairgrave, and Mesdames Charles Thompson, Glen McElroy, William Kearney and Lou Bohn. To the survivors the sympathy of a host of friend is extended.
Cousin of Flier
The deceased was a cousin of Phoebe Omlie, noted aviatrix and aeronautical authority, who is now believed in Tennessee.
Mrs. Reid was member of the American Legion and Spanish American Auxiliaries as well as the Boone County Fifty Year clan.
Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2:15 at the home and at 2:30 at Marion street Methodist church. The Rev. T. J. Petty, assisted by Dr. Edwin A. Briggs, will be in charge. Interment will be in Linwood Park cemetery, east. The remains will be taken to the home Wednesday evening.
