BLESSEN--Last rites set here Friday for William Blessen
Last rites for William G. Blessen, 70, Platte Center, who died Tuesday, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at McKown Funeral Home in Columbus.
The Rev. D. Lee Grace will officiate, and burial will be in Platte Center Baptist cemetery. The body is to lie in state at the funeral home after 1 p.m. Thursday.
Born July 9, 1897, at Platte Center, he was the son of J.F. and Minnie Meyer Blessen. He attended District 22 school, Platte Center.
Mr. Blessen and Verna Albers were married at Columbus May 11, 1939, and they made their home on a farm near Platte Center.
He is survived by wife; three daughters, Mrs. Robert L. (Katherine) O'Hare and Mary Blessen of Fresno, Calif., Mrs. Oscar T. (Karen) Snyder of Columbia, Mo.; two grandchildren; and a brother, Chris F. Blessen of Portland, Ore.
Preceding him in death were his parents, and a brother, George, in 1964.
