Death of John Q. Adams
Adams: John Q. Adams, a resident of Corvallis and a veteran of the Civil War passed away at his home in Corvallis on Monday, February 8th at the age of 72 years. Mr. Adams was loved by all who knew him for his congeniality and his staunch patriotism. He had not been a resident of Corvallis long, having come to Montana two years ago in search of health. On account of his illness and close confinement to home his circle of friends was small, but he will be much missed by those who were fortunate enough to know him.

Mr. Adams is survived by his wife, Mrs. Anna Adams and six children, the seventh a grown daughter having died within the last year. A married daughter living in Colorado and a son living in Spokane Wash. did not reach the bedside of their father before he died. Mr. Adams home life has been ideal. He was an ardent patriot, devoted christian and a loving father.

Mr. Adams was born at Joliet, Ill on September 7th 1832 and died on February 8, 1904. He enlisted in a Nebraska infantry regiment at the begening of the war and served until its finish, taking place in the battles of Shilo and Bunker Hill. At the time of his death he was a member of the McCellend Post No. 7, of Delta Colorado, which was his place of residence for twenty-five years previous to his removal here. His marriage to Miss Annie Thomas took place thirty-one years ago, since which time she has been his devoted attendant during his long illness.
