When Martha's g-granddaughter, Donna (Hewlett) Ruttan, learned that she didn't have a tombstone, she immediately made plans to purchase one. This was around the middle of November 2010, and about one month later it had been delivered to the cemetery for placement. Martha would have been proud to have a g-granddaughter like Donna. She is the granddaughter of Martha's son, Joseph, and the daughter of Joseph's son, Donward. Today, Dec. 22, Donna told me that her dad's youngest sister helped pay for the grave-marker.

Mattie's first marriage was to Oric Hewlett in Newtonia, Newton Co, MO. They had six children: James William, Ralph Franklin, Joseph, Hattie May, Ora Maude, & Grace Marguerette. Oric died in Newtonia on January 03, 1895.
Mattie's second marriage was to Michael C. Wilson on September 18, 1904, in Newtonia, after which they soon moved to WA and later to CA.
She died on November 3, 1950 at the age of 92.
