The following life sketch was read:
Linda Lou Bowen, daughter of Mark and Ruth (Pierce) Bowen, was born Sept 15, 1942, in Council Bluffs. The family lived on the Bowen homestead south of Hastings, where Linda attended North Grove country school.
In 1952, the family moved to a farm north of Hastings and Linda continued her education in the Hastings school system. She graduated in 1960 as valedictorian of her senior class.
In the fall of 1960 she entered Parsons College at Fairfield, where she majored in Art. She received her B A degree in 1964, and took additional art courses by correspondence.
In addition to her art work she did some writing of fiction and poetry, and also collected Indian artifacts. She had many other interests including the study of nature and archeology. Reading was one of her favorite hobbies and she accumulated quite a large book collection. Music also meant a great deal to her, and she taught herself to play the guitar, and had a large record collection covering all types of music.
On May 5, 1973, she was found in the timber she loved so much, having departed this life at the age of 30 years.
She leaves besides her parents the following aunts and uncles: Ted and Florence Bowen, Malvern; Alma and Wally Wederquist, Apache Junction, Ariz; Verl and Harley Niday, Denver Colo; Carrie Bowen, Colorado Springs, and Elsie May of Gothenburg, Neb. She is also survived by a number of cousins and other relatives.

Linda I have thought about you many times thru out the years. We spent many years together in 4-H meetings, church MYF, school sports. I had married and moved away when i received the awful news that you was gone. You will always be a good friend.
