Rogersville - Clay Lawson, 73, of Route 3 Rogersville, was pronounced dead on arrival at Hawkins County Memorial Hospital yesterday evening.
He was a retired farmer and a Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Tunnell Hill Missionary Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife Sarah Mae Gonce Lawson; two daughters, Mrs. Clifford (Mary O.) Jones, Pottsboro, Texas and Mrs. Thomas (Betty Sue) Bailey, Rogersville; one son, James C. Lawson, Rogersville; five grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Mae Hurd, Rogersville and Mrs. Blanche Manis, Church Hill, three brothers, Grand Lawson, Rogersville, Sturn Lawson, Church Hill and Kyle Lawson, Stranton, Texas.
Arrangements will be announced later by Broome Funeral Home in Rogersville.
